An Independent Voice for Nature

The Chicago Bird Alliance is a chapter of the National Audubon Society that covers the City of Chicago and suburbs in Cook County. Beginning in January, 2022 members of the Chicago Bird Alliance developed a strategic planning framework to establish a vision for the next 5-10 years and guide future planning and programming efforts.

Vision
All Chicago area communities care about, protect, and cherish wild birds and their habitat.

Mission
Chicago Bird Alliance believes in connecting all people with birds and nature through direct engagement, communication, and advocacy.

Ethic
Problem-solving, collaborative, science-based, welcoming, inclusive, enthusiastic about learning and teaching about birds and nature.

Goals

1.  Be a welcoming and inclusive organization.

2.  Engage our communities through programming and experiences.

3.  Restore and preserve bird habitat.

4.  Advocate for birds and bird-friendly policies and initiatives.

5.  Advance community-based science to improve our understanding of birds and their habitat.

6.  Grow our organizational sustainability.
