Matthew Freer of the Chicago Park District (CPD) will give an overview for upcoming plans for the park district’s natural areas. He will share the park district's shoreline renewal efforts, and take questions and answers about your favoring birding hotspots.
Matt Freer is Assistant Director of Landscape for the Chicago Park District. In his role he oversees the Environmental Conservation and Education (ECE) team. The ECE team is responsible for managing the District’s 2000 acres of natural areas, related programs - including 3 program hubs and city-wide youth and family programs. Matt has been with the District for over 10 years. Prior to joining the Park District Matt spend time at the Chicago Botanic Garden, Wisconsin DNR and Cornell University Research station.
