The second entry into our occasional series highlighting places where important conservation actions are making better habitat for birds. Come and get bird conservation literate! This series is not just for birders - all who want to learn about local conservation are welcome.
This grassland/wetland complex, owned by the Cook County Forest Preserves, formerly tree plantations and hay, is now home to a beautiful restored prairie, the second largest population of bobolinks in Illinois, plus a broad range of nesting birds of grassland and wet grassland. Come explore the site and learn about the conservation actions that made this special place what it is. You’re in for a treat!
