This transit-friendly walk is geared toward birders who use public transportation to navigate the city.
Columbus Park is located in the Austin neighborhood on the west side of Chicago. Included in the 135-acre park are a winding lagoon, a small woodland, two waterfalls, and a marsh. These varied habitat types will attract a variety of spring migrants in late May.
Meeting Spot: The bus turnaround stop at Jackson and Austin Boulevards will serve as the main meeting point. This is about a 3-block walk from the Austin blue line stop. More detailed instructions will be provided to registrants closer to the event date.
If driving, free parking is available within the park from Jackson Boulevard.
