Deja Perkins is an urban ecologist and science communicator that is passionate about encouraging people to explore the nature in their own neighborhoods.
"Nature can be found everywhere, not only in the amazing national parks, and state parks that we see on tv, but even close to home. No matter if you live in a rural or an urban environment. I believe that everyone should have equal access to natural spaces especially within the city." - Deja Perkins
This birding experience will be held at Big Marsh Park. This is an amazing park where almost 250 species have been seen! Big Marsh is 280 acres of trails that make it hard to believe you are still in Chicagoland! It truly gives a new perspective on the Natural Areas that are all around us - even in heavily urbanized areas.
