The leaves have fallen - you can see the birds again - and that means it’s time for the Christmas Bird Count!
The tradition started to replace the “Christmas Hunt”. Instead of shooting birds, how about counting them? It is the longest-running volunteer data-gathering effort in the bird world and a great tradition.
If you’re interested in birding at all, we encourage you join a count. There are many in our region, on different days and in different locations. Check out the map at the link below to find the one that’s right for you! Beginners welcome.
