Join fellow LGBTQ+ outdoors enthusiasts and the Forest Preserves of Cook County to explore and restore Possum Hollow Woods. The event will be led in both English and Spanish.

Join us for a fall hike and volunteer day co-hosted by Xochitl Lopez of Friends of the Forest Preserves, and Raquel García-Álvarez of the Forest Preserves of Cook County. We will help to restore the woodland by removing invasive brush, and will keep warm with a brush fire.

Participants must wear a face covering or mask when within 6 feet of others. We recommend bringing a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen and wearing weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, including long pants, and sturdy, close-toed shoes. Please avoid wearing flammable synthetic fabrics which may catch fire from stray brushpile embers. 

To protect the safety of all participants, we have limited the trip capacity to 10 people. Please RSVP using the Eventbrite platform to reserve a spot.

Free parking is available on site. Possum Hollow Woods is located on W 31st St, west of S La Grange Rd in La Grange Park, IL 60526 (41°50'03.1"N 87°52'43.4"W).
