This “Big Sit” is part of a series of bird outings we are leading at lesser birded sites within the Forest Preserves of Cook County each season.
Miller Meadow’s location along the Des Plaines River and mix of habitats make it a prime birding location. On this Big Sit outing we will spend approximately two hours looking for late breeding birds like meadowlarks and early fall migrants like warblers. A chair, water, insect repellent and sun protection are recommended. CBA is happy to accommodate individuals with mobility challenges at this event.
Meeting Spot: There are multiple parking areas at Miller Meadow. Make sure to pull in from the 1st Avenue (NOT Roosevelt Road) entrance. Drive in past the dog park and go north until you hit the end of the lot. Here is an approximate pin. If needed, the trip leader will reach out to registered attendees prior to communicate any changes to the meeting location.
