Join us for a walk at Salt Creek Woods, a nature preserve in west-central Cook County. The preserve hosts several acres of woodland habitat and a small prairie, with Salt Creek running through. The habitat diversity of this location makes it a great place to find a wide variety of birds. In particular, it is one of the best places in this part of the county to find all seven woodpecker species including Red-headed & Pileated. The walk will be about 3 miles on earthen trails and paved bike trails.
Registration is required and limited to 10 participants due to parking restraints.
Trip Leader: Kyle Wiktor
Meeting Spot: Meet in this parking lot. The trip leader will be in touch with any further details closer to the date.
