Wooded Island Birding Outing

  • Jackson Park Chicago, Illinois (map)

Hello everyone,

It was Robin Appreciation Day again this week with our lovely residents spotted all over the place.

A pocket of woodpeckers on the south side of the island was a nice treat. The best sightings of the day were a beautiful male American Kestrel that gave us good looks and a Merlin that posed nicely for us in a tree in the oak grove. Our photographers got some great shots.
