The Morton Arboretum encompasses 1,700 acres of diverse habitat, including restored prairie, deciduous woods and evergreen plantations.
Several lakes dot the property, and two creeks meander through it. It is a wonderful place to view migrant songbirds in spring and fall, and Yellow-throated Warblers have stayed to nest in recent years. The extensive conifer plantings often attract Pine Siskins or crossbills and usually a Northern Saw-whet Owl or two.
Entrance fee required.
