We’ll see grassland babies saved from the mower and maybe the first shorebirds… join us!
We have a new breeding bird at Techny North this year - the dickcissel. This week we also saw young savannah sparrows, meadowlarks, and spotted sandpipers. All saved from the mower by our collaboration with MWRD.
Join us to enjoy these grassland bird families, check the mudflats for the first migrating shorebirds, hear an inspiring conservation story, and look for other nesting birds and 4 species of foraging herons.
New birders and non-birders welcome!
Meeting Spot: Meet behind the Sheraton in the parking spots overlooking the river. Although the address is 1110 Willow, the hotel is actually on Founders’ Drive north of Willow.
Dress: for the weather and the grassland - there is very little shade and there may be mud. Long pants and long sleeves are recommended - they will protect from the sun and bug bites.
