In conjunction with Cook County Forest Preserves, CAS coordinates an extensive restoration project at Camp Pine Woods, an area prime for woodland and shrub prairie birds including summer nesters and seasonal migrants.
Workday activities may include cutting and burning buckthorn, removing other invasives, or seed harvesting. Waterproof shoes/boots are recommended, as well as work gloves and protective eyewear (gloves and eyewear will be available for those who need them).

Our May workday at Camp Pine is this Saturday, May 7th, from 9am-12pm. We will be pulling garlic mustard! Please meet at the far end of the parking lot, and bring bug repellant if you have it. It's tick season!
