When Craig Stettner unexpectedly passed away on Christmas Day, Chicago Audubon not only lost a board member, but more importantly, we lost a friend and the whole world lost an avid devotee to the environment and to all aspects of nature. Craig taught biology at Harper College, and his students will miss him greatly. In addition to teaching and to his involvement with Citizens for Conservation, and to Friends of Busse Woods, and to the Dragonfly Monitoring Network, Craig spent many hours working to clear invasive species and restore habitat in the Spring Creek Forest Preserve. On May 21, The Forest Preserve District of Cook County will pass a resolution honoring Craig for his lifetime of work to make the world a better place.
