Hello everyone,
After a couple of very foggy Saturdays, we had a lovely day – sunny with bright blue skies. Spring must be in the air because the Black-capped Chickadees were singing their two-note mating call. And there were a lot of Chickadees. Cheryl described it as a Chickadee Jamboree and indeed it was!
Oddly, we had no Yellow-shafted Flickers today, but we had plenty of Northern Cardinals and American Robins, both of which looked especially pretty in the sun.
The lagoons are still frozen so no waterfowl were there, but we had Red-breasted Mergansers in the 59th street Marina and a lot of Mallards were sleeping on the docks.
