Join trip leader Ian Sarmiento in search of grassland breeding birds. This special area encompasses 585 acres of restored prairie in far-south suburban Cook County and is a critical sanctuary for birds, including some threatened species. During the summer breeding season the area is alive with Bobolinks, Eastern Meadowlarks, Dickcissels, and Henslow’s Sparrows.
Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and insect repellant are recommended.
There is no capacity limit for this trip but registration is required. More details will be provided to registered attendees ahead of the trip if/as needed.
