Join us for a morning walk at Park No. 566 to see prairie birds such as sparrows, meadowlarks, raptors and maybe some early fall migrants flying through the lakefront.

Park No. 566 is an incredible restored prairie managed by the Chicago park district that has seen many uncommon bird species like parasitic jaegers, blue grosbeaks and many more. It is next to the lakefront, which provides an incredible opportunity to see birds in flight through Lake Michigan with the city of Chicago in the background.

The park is large and it is estimated that adding up the paved and non paved trails we will walk around 2-3 miles. It may be windy due to the lakefront so wearing at least a few layers that can also protect you against rain is recommended in case undesirable weather occurs. Hope to see you there!

Registration is required with capacity limited to 20 participants. More information will provided by the trip leader if/as needed closer to the event.

Meeting Spot: Meet at the Rainbow Beach Dunes South Natural Areas on the bus loop between South Lakeshore Drive and S. Farragut Drive (approximately here).
