Are you a skilled nonprofit leader with a passion for the environment and conservation?
Morten Group, LLC is partnering with Chicago Audubon Society on their search for their first Executive Director!
Founded in 1972, Chicago Audubon Society (CAS) is a chapter affiliated with the National Audubon Society. The organization is dedicated to protecting birds and other wildlife and the habitat that supports them by connecting people with birds and nature through field trips, educational programming, advocacy, stewardship, and research. CAS collaborates with other local birding and environmental groups to help
achieve common goals.
Chicago Audubon Society recognizes the history of inequities found throughout birding communities and has intentionally embarked upon an effort to better understand, empathize, include, and be an ally to marginalized people. We have sought to create a diverse board, staff, and volunteers. We have spelled out a clear stance of inclusion and equity and ask everyone to commit to aligned action.
In February of 2023, the CAS Board of Directors voted to remove “Audubon” from the chapter's name. Rebranding CAS to reflect these changes will be a significant part of the new Executive Director’s role in the first year.
Chicago Audubon Society Executive Director
Chicago Audubon Society seeks a deeply committed, mission-driven, and skilled leader to join them as their first Executive Director.
The Executive Director enables the Board to meet its governance, financial, and legal responsibilities. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to the goals of the organization, excited to expand an organization that connects Chicagoans to nature, and willing to act as an advocate around a broad range of issues relating to the protection of birds and other wildlife and the habitats that support them.
