As many of you may have read in the news, we experienced a tragedy on Saturday, October 17th. Over the course of that fall migration day, Chicago Bird Collision Monitors collected more than 1,000 dead or injured birds that collided with buildings.
This tragedy comes at a critical window of opportunity in passing the Chicago Bird Friendly Building Ordinance. Our bill currently sits in the City Council Zoning Committee. It must be called for a vote there before it advances to the full City Council for a final vote. If you want to build support among all 50 members of the City Council to ensure that the ordinance passes as soon as possible, now is your moment.
We will gather as virtually to discuss this ongoing tragedy, our progress with the Ordinance and how to move forward.
