A lifelong naturalist and writer based in the South Side, Annabelle just can't stop looking at birds. An early childhood Killdeer encounter at the T-Ball field ignited her curiosity--and before she knew it, her birding passion took flight! Annabelle was also a volunteer monitor for Chicago's famous Piping Plover pair, Monty and Rose, and their family when they nested at Montrose Beach for a third and final year in 2021. These days, her top three favorite species are the Wilson's Phalarope, the Swallow-tailed Kite and the Rock Pigeon. You will find her work with Chicago Audubon on both the blog and Instagram page.
