The bird walk will begin at 7AM and the workday will begin at 9AM. Feel free to attend both or either portion.

Join the stewards of Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary for a workday at one of the top bird watching spots in the country! From removing invasive plants to planting native ones, picking up trash to collecting seeds, this beautiful natural area is in need of a helping hand to ensure it continues to support the countless birds and people that visit and rely on it.

No experience is necessary. All necessary tools, equipment and instruction will be provided. Please dress for the weather and wear long pants and close toed shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Volunteers are encouraged to bring plenty of water and sun protection.

Directions:
Meet at the Magic hedge main entrance, located on Montrose Ave east of Lake Shore Drive. Continue east on Montrose Avenue towards the lake. As the road turns north, take the right by the bait shop. Continue to the nature area on the left, just before the harbor parking lot. See map below.

Parking:
There are parking meters along W. Montrose Drive. The attached a map (see below) shows where free parking is still available - green designates no meters on the map. Red designates metered parking. Free parking extends along W Montrose Avenue/Simonds Drive.
